Fungi

Community

Our intention

We are so grateful and excited that you have expressed interest in being apart of this group of like-minded people who want to increase their access and knowledge to the world of fungi. We believe community-based learning and going outdoors together in a respectful manner and honoring the land we’re on is of utmost importance. We never want to harvest excessively or “hunt” mushrooms as a sport or for our personal collections. Instead, we want to set an intention to begin a relationship with our fungal relatives in a way that is mutually beneficial.

We also intend to preserve what we learn and pass it down to the next generation who will inherit the Earth. Prior fungi knowledge is not necessary and you do not need to be an expert in the field of mycology to participate. In our community, there is no hierarchy and is inclusive to all levels of knowledge and experience with fungi. Group learning and relationship building is a big part of our community intention. Building relationships with plants, trees, fungi, animal and human folx can provide all the medicine that is needed to inspire and support your journey and experience. The POC
Fungi Community aims to support healing and promote resilience within ourselves, families, and communities.

Families, and especially little ones, are always welcomed and are encouraged to attend. Your immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation matters and we want to recognize you and want to make everyone feel safe and included. We are excited to start this journey with you and look forward to building our community in a sustainable and enjoyable way. Some of the best learning and growing occurs when done in a collective environment, so please join us as we walk/hike in search of medicinal and edible fungi.
